The Hadley Park Locks

Constructed on the Shrewsbury canal at the end of the 18th century, the locks still stand in a somewhat dilapidated state, awaiting funding for their restoration.

WARNING These locks are dangerous, and children should not be allowed near them. Adults are warned to take great care.

Originally designed with a central counterweight, they were altered in 1840 to having a side weight descending into a hole.
