I would be grateful for any information on the mentioned names. Kind regards, Carole From: June

Census records for 1841 and 1851 show that he and his family were living in Short Heath Willenhall. Unfortunately this is the only information I have been able to find for him. Can anyone help me further? Many thanks. From: Jim Austen

Date: 18/12/07 The 4th six monthly reunion of teenagers from the 50's and 60's took place at the "White Horse" Wrockwardine Wood on 8th October 07. These get-togethers are getting better each time so much so that it may be necessary to form a committee. Things have changed a lot in the Oakengates/Donnington/Wellington areas in the last 50 years but the memories linger on what life was like for us teenagers then. If you can remember The Majestic, June Room, Chelsea Coffee Bar, Grosvenor Cinema, Cartwheel Cafe, Miners Club, Globe Cinema, Regent Cinema and Donnington and St Georges Youth Clubs then you are not alone.

Rawlinson Hi everyone in Oakengates & surrounding areas. I was born and reared in Ketley in the year 1929, and believe me folks there was not much around at that time as regards entertainment or anything else for that matter. I started work at 14 years of age at the Wellington Journal, but I was not interested I was more mechanically minded, so I started at Irvine Brothers Garage on the Holyhead Road, later taken over by Vincent Greenhous (anyone recall it) That would be during the war (1944) Called up for RAF N/S 1947 Demobbed 1949, then went to work at Chetwoods Garage in Tan Bank, Wellington. Stayed there 16 years . I notice a very good friend and school pal on this site amongst the historical advisers named Ernest Dabbs. If you read this Ernie get in touch (are you still making wine?) it was the best I tasted. Anyone that remembers me e-mail me. At my age (78) I can go back a long way about that area. I found this site while browsing and I think it is very very good, I will keep visiting it. Also I read Anne Williams comments in the guestbook (nee Briggs) I may know you. Or not. But I certainly knew your father Cliff and all his brothers, we go way back. I have a photo of your father & mother (not stepmother) taken at my hotel in Blackpool, he was a very nice man to know. I was at Red Lake church last year visiting my moms grave, and I was amazed to see he was buried close to her by the gates (I did not know he had died). If you read this Anne -mail me. the control of goods from Snedshill Works, Boulton Brickworks, Maddocks
Foundry etc. The station yard would be full of goods wagons and the top
end was full of scrap wheels from Sankey's ready to be taken away. The
yard in the old LNWR station was similar and the shed there was full of
Bibby's cattle and pig foods for delivery in the area. The signal box on
the level crossing was dubbed 'The Kremlin' as the signalman was a staunch
